Superstore’s Happy Cashier

October 2006
julie murphy

Julie Murphy started with Superstore in November 2006 after receiving her training at the Dollar Store. We were all very excited for her and wish her all the best.

Julie says she loves her job. “I have so much more confidence in myself”

When asked on a scale of one to ten, how much she enjoys working Julie is quick to say “Eleven”. Julie’s energy and enthusiasm extends beyond her work at the Superstore. Last year Julie offered to share her experience for a radio documentary produced by King’s College. Julie also offered to be a guest speaker at this year’s Annual General Meeting (Affirmative Industries) in hopes of inspiring others by sharing her story.

“I love working as a cashier and I have fun doing it. I never thought I could work cash but here I amworking fulltime”

Success at the Superstore

brent macneil

Brent MacNeil has a lot to smile about these days. After receiving his training at the Dollar Store, Brent went on to land a job in the produce department for The Real Atlantic Superstore’s flagship location on Joseph Howe Drive.

Brent says he enjoys earning his own money but also likes the people he works with and loves to offer great customer service to shoppers. This enthusiasm is evident if you drop in and visit Brent and see for yourself his level of dedication and he has to his work.

During his time with the Dollar Store Brent would say that he looked forward to moving on but that he would miss the team he had gotten to know while in training.

And while we all feel the same sentiment for each participant as they branch out and reach new heights we also realize that their departure from our program is a sign of personal success—big or small.
